Police Nab Individual Linked to Kenya Power Vandalism Case

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested a suspect in connection to vandalism of Kenya Power transformers.

The suspect identified as Hassan Kipkurui Rotich was caught following a tip-off from the public who alerted the authorities about an ongoing act of vandalism in the area.

Kipkurui was caught red-handed in the act by officers from Kapletundo Police Station.

“Upon interrogation, he further revealed locations of two additional transformers that he and an accomplice, Collins Kibet who remains at large had previously vandalized, rendering them nonfunctional in Chepkosa and Cheptigit villages” DCI stated.

The suspect was immediately taken to Kapletundo Police Station together with the evidence collected.

He will remain in custody pending arraignment.

Regarding the incident, the DCI is urging the public to refrain from vandalizing vital installations.

“The DCI is urging the public to refrain from vandalizing vital installations, as such destructive behaviour will be met with the full force of the law”
