Vihiga Senator Geofrey Osotsi has broken silence after being discharged from the hospital following his recent alleged assault.
The Senator alleged that his life is in danger, claiming that government-linked surveillance targeted him and fellow Linda Mwananchi leaders before the attack in Kisumu.
Osotsi finally recounted the ordeal that left him admitted for a week following what he described as a coordinated assault at a coffee shop.
According to the Senator, the incident escalated when one of the attackers allegedly drew a firearm and threatened to assassinate him during the confrontation.
“I had my aide with me, and it was at the time when I had sent him to withdraw some money for me, a few metres away. That is when a group of men came to me, calling me Senator, and soon started beating me,” Osotsi said.
“When I fell, some continued beating me with one of them, pulling a gun on me. However, I would want to clarify that it was not a love triangle as some paid bloggers were claiming. I have my wife here, and if at all I were to be in a love affair, why would I do it in the open?” he added.
Osotsi also alleged that certain leaders allied to the Linda Mwananchi movement are under constant surveillance, accusing key senior officials within the Interior Ministry of orchestrating the scheme.
