ODM Holds High-Level Talks to Reassess Political Strategy

The ODM Party leadership has held high-level consultative talks as the party reflects on its political priorities amid evolving national developments.

In a statement on Monday, January 12, party leader Oburu Oginga said he convened a meeting of the ODM Central Management Committee in Vipingo, Kilifi County, to facilitate discussions on emerging political and national issues.

He noted that the engagement provided an opportunity for party leaders to directly exchange views on key matters affecting both the party and the country.

Oburu also noted that ODM remains anchored in consultation with its members and the wider public as it charts its future direction.

The meeting comes days after Oburu held talks with ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna amid reported internal tensions within the party.

Following the engagement on Wednesday, January 7, Oburu described Sifuna as a sober and principled leader, noting his commitment to the party’s democratic ideals.

He also emphasized the importance of open dialogue and encouraged young leaders to actively participate in shaping the future of ODM, saying healthy debate strengthens the party.

A day later, Oburu met with National Assembly Minority Leader and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed at his Nairobi office.

The ODM Party confirmed the meeting on Thursday, January 8, stating that the two leaders discussed party affairs, growth strategies, and the broader political landscape in the country.
