Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Oburu Oginga has cautioned individuals outside the party against interfering in its ongoing negotiations with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
In a statement on Thursday, October 29, Oburu thanked Kenyans, ODM members, friends and supporters for their prayers and goodwill during his absence from active political engagements as he recovered.
The ODM leader said he was making steady progress towards full recovery but expressed concern over attempts by some individuals, including non-party members, to influence how ODM conducts its negotiations with UDA.

He maintained that ODM had established structures, clear objectives and experienced leadership capable of determining the party’s negotiating position without external interference.
Oburu said the party would make decisions based on its interests and those of Kenyans, adding that discussions with UDA required serious engagement rather than public pressure or media attention.
He also defended ODM’s contribution to national progress and stability, noting that the party had made sacrifices and remained committed to the country’s development.
On the negotiations with UDA, Oburu reaffirmed ODM’s commitment to the full implementation of the 10-point agenda, describing it as a fundamental and non-negotiable condition in the party’s engagement with the ruling party.
He maintained that ODM would not compromise on the agenda and other pressing national priorities as the discussions continued.
Oburu concluded by urging individuals who were not members of ODM to focus on the challenges facing the country rather than offering unsolicited advice on how the party should conduct its negotiations with UDA.
