Machakos County has issued a demand letter to media personality Oga Obinna following an interview with comedian Sammy Kioko.
Kioko is involved in a dispute with the county over an alleged non-payment of Ksh19 million for services he provided. The county claims Kioko is not registered as a director of any company it works with.
During his interview on November 10, Kioko explained how the unpaid money affected his businesses and mental health. He said the situation forced him to seek help from close friends.

He also revealed that several attempts to reach senior county officials, including the governor, were unsuccessful. This has led to a series of accusations and counter-accusations.
The Wavinya Ndeti-led administration has reiterated that it did not enter into any contract with Kioko.
It is now demanding that Obinna provide any documents supporting the claims made during the interview.
In the letter, the county’s solicitor accused Obinna of tarnishing the reputation of county officials and other regional leaders, who are not involved in day-to-day county affairs.
Obinna responded on social media, noting that the county should have contacted him directly instead of going public.
