Nursing Council Applauds Medic’s Heroic Response in Crash That Killed Johana Ng’eno

The Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) have praised nurse Jeptoo for her professionalism after trying to save lives during the tragic helicopter crash incident that claimed the life of MP Ng’eno and five others.

In a statement on Monday, March 2, 2026, NCK applauded nurse Jeptoo whose selfless service stood out in the wake of the tragic chopper crash.

“Nursing Council of Kenya commends the courage and professionalism of Nurse Jeptoo, who selflessly responded to the tragic helicopter crash in Mosop, Nandi County”, the statement read.

“Her actions exemplify the commitment, compassion, and resilience that define the nursing profession, even in the most harrowing circumstances. We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and stand in solidarity with all frontline responders affected by this tragic incident,” the Council added.

Reports indicate that the trained nurse was among the heroes who emerged from the tragedy as she gave her all in saving the lives of the plane crash victims.

She calmly managed the crowd at the scene in Mosop constituency in Nandi County.

The tragedy happened on Saturday February 28, 2025.

According to reports, the helicopter had an emergency landing due to bad weather, but as it was about take off again, it crashed and burst into flames.

As per the time of this writing, the six are expected to be buried on Friday, March 6, 2026 as per their family.
