NPS Intensifies Crackdown, Arrests 13 in Trans Nzoia Gang Sweep

The National Police Service (NPS) has recently announced the arrest of 13 suspects linked to a criminal gang operating in Trans Nzoia County.

In a statement, the Service noted that a multi-agency security team carried out a successful operation in the Gitwamba area, where the suspects were apprehended over alleged involvement in gang-related activities and other criminal offences.

According to NPS, the suspects are believed to be part of a network responsible for a series of unlawful acts, including violence, theft, intimidation, vandalism, and disruption of normal community activities, which have been affecting residents in the area.

The police noted that the operation is part of ongoing intelligence-led efforts targeting criminal groups that threaten public safety and undermine confidence in security institutions.

They added that similar operations will continue across different regions to dismantle organised gangs.

NPS reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that all individuals involved in criminal activities are arrested, prosecuted, and brought to justice in accordance with the law.

At the same time, the Service urged members of the public to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information to help combat crime and maintain peace within their communities.
