Changes Announced in Ongoing Police Recruitment Drive

The National Police Service (NPS) has announced changes to its ongoing police constable recruitment exercise, affecting a number of recruitment centres.

In a statement issued on Friday, November 7, Inspector General Douglas Kanja Kirocho said the updates involve additions and corrections to some of the venues that were previously advertised.

According to the updated notice, former National Youth Service (NYS) candidates may now report for recruitment at their respective home sub-county centres or at the NYS Headquarters in Ruaraka, Nairobi, which had been inadvertently omitted from the initial announcement.

The National Police Service (NPS) further indicated that corrections have been made to several other recruitment centres listed in the earlier notice.

The recruitment of Police Constables will take place on Monday, November 17, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

All applicants must meet a set of minimum qualifications before presenting themselves for the exercise.

Candidates are required to be Kenyan citizens holding a valid national identity card, aged between 18 and 28 years, and possess a minimum grade of D+ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, with at least a D+ in English or Kiswahili.

They must also be physically and medically fit, with a minimum height requirement of five feet eight inches for men and five feet three inches for women.

Moreover, applicants must have no criminal record, while female candidates are required not to be pregnant during recruitment or throughout the training period.

National Youth Service (NYS) graduates who meet these criteria are also encouraged to apply.
