Police have apprehended one suspect in connection with a viral video of a pregnant woman being brutally beaten in Nkareta, Narok North Sub-County.
The victim was rescued on Thursday, September 26, 2025, and taken to Narok County Referral Hospital for medical assessment.
The viral video which raised public concerns, including the President of the Law Society of Kenya, Faith Odhiambo, showed three men assaulting the victim.
According to the police, the attack had happened seven days ago and was later posted online.
They also disclosed that the suspect in custody is believed to be the former husband.
According to local sources, the victim was previously married with two children and the family had supported her through secondary school and vocational training.
She later left the marriage and entered into a new relationship, even after her first union was still considered valid under the cultural traditions.
