Mukurwe-ini Member of Parliament John Kaguchia arrested by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
The lawmaker was apprehended on Monday, August 3 morning at the Royal Media Services (RMS) studios, where he had spent the night.
Kaguchia’s arrest followed his appearance on the Kiririmbi show on Inooro TV the previous evening.

Shortly after the broadcast, a large contingent of police officers surrounded the RMS studios and erected roadblocks in what appeared to be an operation targeting the MP.
The lawmaker had earlier claimed that over 40 heavily armed men, many of them hooded and masked, had cordoned off the area.
According to Kaguchia, the group arrived in several Subaru vehicles and double-cab pickups, with no uniformed officers visible at the scene at the time.
His arrest comes just days after he made controversial remarks cautioning Mt Kenya residents against supporting President William Ruto in the upcoming 2027 General Election.
The comments are believed to have triggered the police action against the UDA lawmaker.
Kaguchia was taken into custody, with detectives finalizing his file for processing.
Details regarding the specific charges he will face had not been disclosed by the time of publication.
