The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced the temporary closure of A8 Road between Rironi and James Gichuru Road Junction.
In a public notice issued on Friday, February 13, 2026, KeNHA announced that the closure will be from Friday, February 20, through Saturday, April 4, 2026.
According to KeNHA , the closure will be in order to facilitate the surface dressing works along the section of the road.
“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) notifies the public that a section of A8 Road , (James Gicheru Junction-Rironi Highway) will experience temporary lane closures from Friday, February 20, 2026 to Saturday, April 4, 2026, inclusive. The closures is to facilitate the surface dressing works along this road section”, part of the statement read.
KeNHA also said that the works will be implemented in phases during which traffic will be diverted to the remaining lanes or service road available.
They authority therefore urged motorist to follow the other routes set up at each work zone.
” Motorists are requested to follow the requested diversion routes set up at each work zone. They are further advised to approach the work zones with caution and adhere to the guidance of traffic police and marshalls on site”, the statement added.
