The High Court has overturned a previous decision that denied bond to Nancy Kigunzu Indoveria, widely known as Mathe wa Ngara.
Delivering the ruling on Wednesday, November 19, Justice James Wakiaga granted her a bond of Ksh500,000, accompanied by a surety of the same amount.
The judge further directed Kigunzu to report to the investigating officer once every 30 days.

He also warned her against committing any similar offences while out on bond.
Kigunzu had earlier been denied bond in September 2024 by JKIA Magistrate Renee Kitangwa.
The Magistrate had earlier issued bond terms of Ksh1 million to her co-accused, David Ochieng and Christopher Odipo, each with a matching surety.
Mathe wa Ngara was first arrested in August 2023 after DCI officers recovered large quantities of bhang and Ksh13.4 million in cash during a raid.
She was later released on December 21, 2023, on a cash bail of Ksh1 million and directed to surrender her passport.
On April 30, 2024, the court ordered that the Ksh13.4 million seized from her be forfeited to the state after she failed to satisfactorily account for the money or justify why it was stored in sacks at her home instead of being deposited in a bank.
On August 9, 2024, Mathe wa Ngara was rearrested at Georgina Apartments in Juja, Kiambu County, after officers found 189,300 grams of bhang valued at more than Ksh5.6 million.
She was taken into custody together with her co-accused, Ochieng and Odipo.
