Man with Wife’s Remains After Murder Detained for 2 Weeks

A 29-year-old man who was found carrying fresh remains of his slain wife has been detained for 14 additional days.

The suspect identified as John Kyama Wambua was arrested on January 20th, 2025, carrying a heavy backpack which was found be mutilated human remains.

The police discovered that the body parts belonged to his deceased wife Joy Fridah.

Upon conducting research, the police recovered a blood-stained kitchen knife and female clothes, the floor was also filled with stained.

The suspect was first arraigned in court on January 23rd where the Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe detained him for 21 days following investigations.

He was brought back to Nairobi Court on 17th February where the prosecutor informed the court that the police have completed the investigations and handed over the report to the Office of the Director Public Prosecution for review.

The court therefore gave them 14 days to review the file and decide whether Wambua will be charged with murder or not.

Wambua in response did not refuse the orders by the court.

The suspect is currently detained at Capitol Hill Police Station.
