Karatina University Student Stabs Girlfriend to Death on Valentine’s Day

Police in Nyeri have recently launched a manhunt for a suspect linked to the murder of a first-year student at Karatina University.

According to Mathira East Police Commander Samson Leweri, Bonita Ngatha Kariuki was allegedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend on Valentine’s Day in a case of love gone sour.

The 25-year-old suspect is also a first-year student at the same institution.

The police commander also disclosed that two students who share a room with the suspect have been arrested and are helping with investigations.

Police reports further indicate that Bonita had spent the better part of the day in a photo-shoot with the suspect.

She later went to the suspect’s room in the hostel where she was stabbed to death.

Bonita’s body was taken to Karatina Level Five Hospital mortuary as police continue with their search for the fugitive suspect. 

The victim, Bonita Ngatha Kariuki, a 21-year-old student from Embu County, was pursuing a Bachelor of Education at the institution.
