Kioni Responds to Moses Kuria’s Plan to Become Jubilee Sec Gen

Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has recently noted that Senior Economic Advisor Moses Kuria will have to wait until 2028 to assume the party’s secretary-general position.

Speaking during an interview on TV47,Kioni clarified that the Jubilee Party’s secretary-general post was not readily available, as many may assume.

According to Kioni, Moses Kuria must first prove himself, adding that he will have to wait another three years to realise his ambition.

He went on to reiterate that for Kuria to secure the lucrative party position, he must receive the requisite approval of the party’s National Delegates Council (NDC).

“The position of a secretary-general of any party is not a position available as you walk across or along the road. There is a way through which you are elected as a party leader. The election is done through the National Delegates Council. The earliest we are going to have a Jubilee National Delegates Council is 2028.”

Kioni further expressed doubt over whether Kuria was serious about his ambition of becoming the party’s principal, stating that the President’s Advisor was fond of making such remarks without any significant action.

The response comes a few days after Moses Kuria shared a poster on his social media accounts announcing his ambition to become the Jubilee party’s next Secretary General.
