A Kenyan truck driver living in the United States has been sentenced to six years in state prison after a deadly road-rage crash on the New Jersey Turnpike that killed another trucker.
Joseph Nyandwaro, 41, a Kenyan national based in Pearland, Texas, was found guilty in connection with the incident, which occurred on Sunday, June 22, 2025.
The crash happened on the northbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike in Woolwich Township, Gloucester County.

Investigators said Nyandwaro, who was driving a tractor-trailer, deliberately struck another truck during an apparent road-rage confrontation.
The impact led to the death of the other driver, 40-year-old Osman Aden.
Investigators used dash-camera footage from both trucks, obtained in July 2025, which confirmed the events leading to the crash and reportedly showed Nyandwaro laughing afterward, though it was unclear if he knew the other driver had died.
Police also found paint from Aden’s truck on Nyandwaro’s vehicle and accused him of trying to hide evidence by cleaning and using duct tape.
Nyandwaro later pleaded guilty to second-degree vehicular homicide and was sentenced to six years in state prison on January 4 at the Gloucester County Superior Court.
