The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a nine-hour traffic disruption along the Eldoret Bypass.
In a notice released on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, the KeNHA revealed that there will be a temporary closure of the road from the Cheplaskei Interchange to Maili Tisa (Leseru) on November 22, 2025.
The closure will happen between 6am to 3pm to facilitate the 2025 Ceder Sports Academy cycling race.
“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to inform the public of the temporary closure of the Eldoret Bypass (A8-North Road) from Cheplaskei Interchange to Maili Tisa (Leseru) Interchange on Saturday, November 22, 2025, between 6.00AM and 3.00PM,” part of the notice read.
Motorists planning to traverse the route have been urged to instead use the Cheplaskei-Maili Tisa (A8) Road section through the Eldoret City Central Business District (CBD).
