ODM Youth League politician, Kasmuel McOure, has recently challenged Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna to resign from his position as the party’s Secretary-General.
Speaking during an interview on October 21, McOure dared Sifuna to step down if he feels ODM no longer aligns with his principles.
“Edwin Sifuna, if you think you are enough of a legislator, if you think you are man enough, and if ODM seems too retrogressive for you, then resign from the mandate that you were given,” he said.

This statement comes just days after McOure cautioned individuals seeking to fill the political void left by the late Raila Odinga, warning them against any attempts to assume his leadership role.
He maintained that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is now under the stewardship of Senator Oburu Odinga, Raila’s elder brother.
“I am sending a stern warning to those bringing antics in the name of inheriting Raila’s position. You cannot inherit Raila’s position. ODM is now firmly under the leadership of Senator Oburu Odinga,” he noted.
McOure went on to note that the ODM party remains strong and should continue under Oburu’s leadership for the foreseeable future.
Elsewhere, during Raila Odinga’s funeral, Sifuna paid a heartfelt tribute to the late leader, thanking him for shaping his political journey.
Sifuna affirmed that ODM would not play second fiddle to any party in the 2027 elections and dismissed suggestions of supporting President William Ruto’s re-election.
He maintained that the party’s position remains as Raila declared in September before his death.
