Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has warned President William Ruto over the safety of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, cautioning that any harm to him would have serious consequences for the country and holding the President responsible.
Speaking on Sunday, January 25, Kalonzo said the situation surrounding Gachagua was deeply troubling, noting that he had recently visited the former deputy president’s home and witnessed the distress his family, including his wife Reverend Dorcas, was going through.
Kalonzo further accused the current administration of eroding the democratic values Kenya has built over decades, arguing that the country is drifting away from the ideals of democracy and good governance.

He also called on international partners to take a firm stance against President Ruto’s leadership.
The remarks followed claims by Gachagua of a security incident at a church in Othaya, Nyeri County, where he said his life was under threat.
In a statement, the DCP party leader alleged that he and other worshippers were attacked while attending a service at Wairima ACK Church in Othaya.
Gachagua claimed that security operatives deployed tear gas and live ammunition during the service, creating panic and placing congregants in danger.
He further alleged that his vehicles were set on fire during the confrontation and appealed to Kenyans to pray for his safety and that of those trapped inside the church.
Images circulating from the scene showed thick clouds believed to be tear gas engulfing the church compound, with people seen fleeing and seeking cover.
