President William Ruto’s Senior Economic Advisor, Moses Kuria’s auction of property by Equity Bank has been temporarily stopped.
The move came after Kuria’s wife, Joyce Njambi, challenged the High Court’s ruling that gave the local bank a way forward to auction Kuria’s apartments.
In a ruling delivered by Justice Anne Mogeni on Friday, April 11, 2025, she issued an order to halt the auction of Kuria’s prime apartments in Ruaka and Juja Estates in Kiambu County temporarily.
The court orders followed Kuria’s application to stop the sale of his properties but Judge Aleem dismissed the application, paving the way for the auction.

According to the judge, the president’s advisor failed to honor a financial obligation of a Ksh.50 million loan he took several years ago.
Kuria argued that the bank only disbursed Ksh40 million and not Ksh50 million as alleged by the plaintiff.
He added that he had since paid Ksh 5.7 million of the loan, which he stated demonstrated goodwill to repay the full amount.
However, Judge Aleem noted that the amount repaid by Kuria was too little based on the agreement that he had taken to repay the loan.
The hearing of the application is set for April 30, 2025.
