Renowned Tanzanian Gospel Artist Goodluck Gozbert has recently sparked debate online after burning his Mercedes Benz.
He was Gifted the Mercedes Benz By Prophet Geor Davie in 2021.
According to Goodluck Gozbert, the gift does not align with God’s will.

“I received the vehicle from a preacher. I want to let people know that the food I ate that day during the service and the car gift displeased God. It was not right for me to partake in it. After this video, I know there will be mixed views from people and preachers who love and hate me. respect it all. If God allows me to speak about more, I will, by his grace. God bless you,” he said.
In a video shared on social media, the musician drove the car to a deserted place, doused it with petrol before setting it on fire.
The video has attracted various reactions from social media users.
In 2021 when he was been gifted the car, Prophet Geor Davie asked Goodluck what the best vehicle he had managed to buy was, and he said he owned a Toyota Harrier.
“You have never owned a Mercedes Benz? I will gift you a C class today,” Geor Davie said.
The sedan was then driven into the venue as the congregants clapped.
The prophet then gave the keys to Goodluck, who wept with joy.
He then prayed for the singer.
