Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has dismissed Peter Ogolla, the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Lands, Physical Planning, Housing and Urban Development.
In a statement issued on Monday, December 1, the Governor announced the nomination of Joseph Mitito as Ogolla’s replacement.
Wanga said the dismissal was done in accordance with Section 35(a) of the County Governments Act.

She described Mitito as a seasoned professional with solid leadership capabilities, expressing confidence in his ability to steer the department forward.
The Governor noted that Mitito’s name will be submitted to the County Assembly for vetting, noting that he is a well-qualified professional capable of leading the Lands, Physical Planning, Housing and Urban Development docket.
She also reassigned Danish Onyango to head the Roads, Public Works, Transport and Infrastructure department while simultaneously serving as Acting CEC for Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Development.
The county boss explained that the changes aim to improve service delivery across the county and directed the County Secretary to ensure a smooth handover.
The adjustments come months after a previous reshuffle in January this year.
