Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has pledged to buy a brand-new motorcycle for Igembe Central parliamentary aspirant Misheck Mutethia Kavesti to support his campaign activities.
Speaking during a Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) rally in Meru County on Monday, July 27, Gachagua made the pledge after Kavesti appealed for a means of transport, saying he had been conducting door-to-door campaigns on foot because he could not afford a motorcycle or a car.
Kavesti maintained that despite the lack of transport, he had received overwhelming support from residents and only needed a motorcycle to reach more voters and effectively communicate his agenda.

Before making the announcement, Gachagua sought the opinion of residents attending the rally on whether the young aspirant should be assisted.
After receiving their approval, he committed to purchasing a brand-new motorcycle to facilitate Kavesti’s campaigns.
Another leader attending the rally also contributed to the aspirant’s campaign by pledging to cater for the motorcycle’s fuel expenses and handing him KSh20,000.
Gachagua was in Meru County to popularise the DCP and rally support ahead of the 2027 General Election.
During the tour, he promised to address key challenges affecting the region, including cattle rustling, while urging residents to back his party.
The former Deputy President also reiterated his opposition to President William Ruto’s re-election bid, insisting that the Head of State should serve only one term.
