According to Gachagua, the discussions revolved around the anticipated launch of a new political party and the strategic role the two counties will play in its foundation.

The former DP moreover noted that the meeting focused not only on party politics but also on pressing national issues raised by the delegation.

Among the concerns tabled were the state of governance, a deteriorating health and education system and allegations of coercion among others.

The meeting came days after Linturi denied claims by President Ruto that the two are in talks, accusing him of lying to the public.

Speaking on Sunday, April 20, Linturi noted that he has not had any communication with Ruto in months, adding that when they last talked, he was not seeking a job.
