The location lies approximately 70 kilometres from the Muhuru border point.
Detectives from Athi River, working alongside officers from Nyatike and their Tanzanian counterparts, mounted a joint operation that culminated in the suspectβs arrest.
The DCI said investigators had pursued multiple leads since Odoyoβs murder in an effort to trace the suspect, who remained at large for nearly two years.
At the time of his arrest, Bambo was reportedly in possession of a Tanzanian national identity card bearing the name James Babu Olang.
Detectives are continuing investigations into the circumstances surrounding his identity and alleged involvement in the killing.
Following his arrest, officers booked the suspect at Nyatike Police Station before transferring him to Athi River Police Station, where he remains in custody pending arraignment in court.
The DCI reiterated its commitment to working with local and international law enforcement agencies to apprehend suspects accused of serious crimes and ensure they face the courts.
The arrest marks a development in the investigation into Odoyoβs killing, which prompted a prolonged search for the suspect across the Kenya-Tanzania border.
