Former Likuyani Member of Parliament Passes Away

Former Likuyani Member of Parliament Enoch Kibunguchy Wamalwa has passed away after a prolonged illness.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, December 23, Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera confirmed that Kibunguchy died at a hospital in Eldoret. 

He described the former legislator as a mentor and elder with whom he shared many moments of reflection and guidance.

Born on August 20, 1953, Kibunguchy was remembered for a life dedicated to public service and the upliftment of his community, with his passing marking the end of a long career of service to the people of Likuyani.

The Lugari MPmoreover noted that Kibunguchy served with quiet determination and integrity in every position he held, noting that his passion for education defined much of his public life. 

He said the former legislator firmly believed education was the greatest equaliser and actively supported the establishment of several schools, opening opportunities for thousands of learners.

Kibunguchy first served as Member of Parliament for Lugari between 2003 and 2007, succeeding the late Cyrus Jirongo.

Following the subdivision of the constituency, he became the founding MP for Likuyani, serving two consecutive terms from 2013 to 2022.
