Former ICT CS Eliud Owalo Puts His Net Worth at Ksh1B

Former ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo has disclosed that his net worth stands at approximately Ksh1 billion.

The 2027 presidential hopeful made the revelation during an interview on Sunday, February 1, though he did not provide details on the assets that make up his wealth.

Owalo, who also previously served as Deputy Chief of Staff, last publicly declared his net worth in October 2022 during the vetting of Cabinet Secretaries, when he said he was worth Ksh645 million.

The former CS then disclosed that he accumulated his wealth through investments in land, hospitality ventures, and commercial tree farming.

Owalo has also indicated that he will unveil the political party under which he will contest the presidency later this month, noting that he will only join a coalition anchored on issue-based politics aimed at addressing the challenges facing Kenyans.

If elected, Owalo said his top priority would be improving household incomes and food security, stressing the need to put money in people’s pockets and ensure families have food on the table.

The 2027 presidential hopeful formally declared his bid on January 11 during an event at the Nomiya Church headquarters in Siaya County and subsequently resigned from his role as Deputy Chief of Staff, saying it was untenable to hold a government position while seeking the presidency.
