Comedian Eric Omondi has sparked online reactions after allegedly issuing a 48-hour ultimatum to nominated Senator Karen Nyamu Over the remarks she made to a student who had visited the Senate.
Omondi called on Nyamu to apologise to a girl she is said to have mocked and to support her education.
The comedian is said to have made the demand following growing public criticism directed at Nyamu over her recent remarks involving a female student during a Senate-related engagement.
“It will not be business as usual,” Omondi reportedly said in his message, as shared widely across social media platforms.
Nyamu faced backlash after comments she made about a young female student visiting Parliament for an educational programme.
Following the public uproar, Senate Speaker Amason Kingi directed Nyamu to issue a formal apology to the student, her family, the Senate, and the public.
Nyamu later apologised in the House, saying she complied with parliamentary procedure and acknowledging that her remarks fell short of expected standards.
Eric Omondi further claimed that apologies alone are not enough calling on action to be taken against Karen Nyamu.
“An apology must be followed by action,” he added.
