ENA Coach has introduced new travel rules that include extra charges for passengers carrying luggage weighing more than 15 kilograms and stricter enforcement of seating requirements for children aged five years and above.
In a notice issued on Wednesday, August 6, the bus company said the changes are aimed at streamlining operations and enhancing passenger safety across its fleet.
Under the revised policy, passengers whose luggage exceeds 15 kilograms will be required to pay excess baggage charges, marking a departure from the practice many long-distance travellers had become accustomed to.

The move is expected to affect many Kenyans travelling upcountry from cities such as Nairobi, particularly those carrying gifts, food items and other supplies for relatives and friends.
ENA Coach further stated that bulky items and luggage exceeding the weight limit must be transported separately through its parcel delivery affiliate, Explorer Parcel Handlers (EPH), at an additional cost.
According to EPH’s parcel rates, luggage weighing between one and seven kilograms attracts a charge of KSh250, while parcels weighing between eight and 10 kilograms cost KSh300.
Those weighing between 11 and 15 kilograms are charged KSh350, with higher rates applying to parcels weighing more than 16 kilograms depending on their size and destination.
The company also announced that it will strictly enforce the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) requirement that every child aged five years and above must have a separately booked seat during travel.
ENA Coach furthermore reminded passengers to keep their seatbelts fastened throughout their journeys, saying the measures are intended to enhance safety on all its routes.
