Three main suspects in the murder of Dr Victoria Mutiso are set to face fresh murder charges over the suspected killing of renowned city lawyer Mathew Kyalo Mbobu.
This comes after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) approved charges against them alongside two police officers.
In a statement on Thursday, October 8, 2026, the DPP announced that it had approved murder charges against the five suspects after they were linked to the lawyer’s killing.
“The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has approved murder charges against five suspects accused of killing lawyer Mathew Kyalo Mbobu,” the DPP stated.
“The suspects are politician Rose Mbithe Mulwa, her two children, Chris Mulwa and Angela Mulwa, and two police constables, Julius Kipkoech Cheruiyot and Kennedy Kipkemei Borboroi,” DPP added.
Following the approval of the charges, the police officers were arraigned at the Kibera Law Courts.
Despite that, both refused to take a plea on the charges against them.
The court therefore directed that they undergo a mental assessment at Mbagathi Hospital to determine whether they are of sound mind and can face charges.
The five suspects are expected to appear in court on October 27, where they will take a plea after the court receives the mental assessment reports of the two officers.
