Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on the morning of Thursday, October 9, departed the country for Entebbe, Uganda.
Taking to his official social media accounts, Kindiki announced that he would be representing President William Ruto at Uganda’s 63rd Independence Day celebrations.
Before his departure, the Deputy President was seen off by Kenya Air Force Commander Major General Bernard Waliaula at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

The trip comes barely a month after Kindiki traveled to Algiers, Algeria, where he represented President Ruto during the 4th Intra-African Trade Fair.
Kindiki led the Kenyan delegation to Uganda, accompanied by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and several Members of Parliament.
This marks the second time this year that the Deputy President has represented President William Ruto in Uganda.
In April, Kindiki travelled to Entebbe for the Extraordinary Summit of the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), while President Ruto was on a state visit to the People’s Republic of China.
Kindiki’s latest visit comes just weeks after President Ruto attended the High-Level Week of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, USA, held from September 22 to September 30, 2025.
During the UNGA summit, President Ruto pushed for global reforms to address security challenges in Haiti, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Somalia, and South Sudan.
He also engaged in high-level bilateral discussions with world leaders, development partners, and industry executives aimed at advancing Kenya’s foreign policy, attracting investment, and strengthening partnerships across key sectors.
