The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is under mounting pressure to investigate controversial remarks made by Pastor James Ng’ang’a after a viral video surfaced online showing him making a shocking confession during a church service.
In the widely circulated footage, Pastor Ng’ang’a, the founder of Neno Evangelism Centre, is heard recounting an incident in which he allegedly took part in a gang of eight men who sexually assaulted a woman many years ago.
The remarks, delivered before his congregation, have sparked widespread outrage and raised serious questions about accountability and ethical conduct among church leaders.

Social media platforms have since been flooded with reactions from Kenyans demanding a thorough probe into the matter.
Civil rights activists and gender-based violence advocates have also urged authorities to treat the confession seriously and ensure that justice is pursued regardless of Ng’ang’a’s religious standing.
Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris condemned the remarks, describing them as deeply disturbing and insensitive to victims of sexual violence.
She called on the DCI and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) to launch immediate investigations into the pastor’s statement and take appropriate legal action if necessary.
She moreover noted the need to authenticate the video but emphasized that, regardless of its origin, such content warrants an official investigation.
Passaris further added that if the confession indeed happened, the pastor should cooperate with law enforcement to ensure justice for the victim.
