The court has ordered the three suspects in the murder of Dr. Victoria Mutiso to be detained at Kileleshwa Police Station until August 27, when they are expected to return to court for further directions.
The DPP informed the court on Monday that a murder case had been registered at the Nairobi High Court against Mbithe and her two children, advocates Chris Mulwa and Angela Mulwa.
According to reports, the decision followed the conclusion of preliminary investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

Mbithe and Chris Mulwa had also been in custody while assisting investigators with the probe.
The prosecution said the decision to charge the three was based on evidence gathered during the investigations that it said linked them to the alleged offence.
Dr. Victoria Mutiso, a psychiatrist and former Director of the African Institute of Mental and Brain Health, was fatally shot in Nairobi on July 29, 2026.
Before her death, Dr Mutiso had also reported an incident in which two armed individuals riding a motorcycle allegedly confronted her while she was driving in Nairobi.
