CCTV footage from Cedars Restaurant in Kilimani has shed light on the confrontation between Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino that occurred on Saturday, January 3.
The video shows Babu Owino leaving his seat at a separate gazebo at around 4:01 pm and walking towards another gazebo where Alai was seated with six other men.
Babu greeted the group and briefly interacted with them before turning his attention to Alai.

After approximately two and a half minutes of conversation, the situation turned confrontational, with Alai pushing Babu.
The incident quickly escalated as Alai was seen shoving and slapping the Embakasi East MP. Moments later, Alai appeared to pull out an object resembling a firearm and cock it.
However, before the situation worsened, one of the men seated with Alai intervened and seized the firearm, preventing further escalation of the altercation.
At around 4:10 pm, the situation appeared to de-escalate, with both Robert Alai and Babu Owino seated calmly in one of the gazebos.
The calm, however, was brief, as Alai was later seen hurling an object in the direction of the ODM lawmaker.
The confrontation escalated again when the Kileleshwa MCA picked up a chair, seemingly intending to throw it at Babu.
The Embakasi East MP reacted by throwing a chair back, triggering panic among other patrons, many of whom fled the restaurant for safety as the disturbance intensified.
Babu Owino was later seen leaving the Cedars Restaurant slowly through Gate 1, bringing the incident to an end.
