Manchester United have completed the final stages of their move for Carlos Baleba, with the Cameroon international set to become the club’s latest major signing from Brighton.
The 22-year-old midfielder has reportedly completed his Manchester United medical, while all relevant transfer documents between the two clubs have been exchanged and signed. An official announcement from Manchester United is now expected.
United agreed a deal with Brighton worth an initial £65 million, with a further £5 million available in add-ons, taking the potential total value of the transfer to £70 million. Brighton will also retain a sell-on clause.
Baleba is expected to sign a five-year contract with Manchester United, with an option that could extend his stay until 2032.
The midfielder has been a long-term target for United and becomes another important addition to Michael Carrick’s midfield rebuild. His arrival follows the summer signings of Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos.
With the medical completed and the paperwork reportedly signed, the long-running Baleba transfer saga is now effectively at its final stage with only the official Manchester United announcement remaining.
