Burnley have dismissed head coach Nicky Hayen following a 4–1 defeat away to Lincoln City that left the club in the Championship relegation zone.
The decision came after another disappointing performance from Burnley, who had been expected to challenge for promotion back to the Premier League following their relegation last season.
Burnley initially took the lead through Andréas Hountondji, but Lincoln equalised through Ben House shortly before half-time.

Lincoln took control after the break, with Mikkel Ladefoged scoring twice and Dom Jefferies adding another goal to complete the comeback and secure a convincing victory.
Hayen’s departure ends a brief spell in charge during which he struggled to turn the team’s results around.
The club confirmed that he had been dismissed with immediate effect following its disappointing start to the campaign.
Burnley now face the task of appointing a new manager to revive their season and improve their position in the Championship standings.
