Hours-long traffic along the busy Thika Superhighway was on Saturday night witnessed after a Land Rover truck was torched by boda boda riders.
Reports indicate that the incident was triggered by a collision between the Land Rover and a boda boda.
The burning took place near the National Youth Service (NYS) and attracted a mammoth crowd and led to a traffic snarl-up on the highway.

Images and videos shared online showed the vehicle on fire as the boda boda riders bayed for the blood of the driver.
This comes days after another boda boda crew torched a City Shuttle bus along Jogoo Road, Nairobi.
The outrage by boda boda operators had also been a retaliatory one after the bus allegedly knocked down and killed one of their colleagues along the busy road.
Reportedly, the victim sustained fatal injuries upon impact, after which the passengers were forced to leave the bus and find alternative transport.
