A boda boda operator fled his motorbike by jumping off to avoid an attack by a gang in Meru County.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the gang allegedly targeted the motorbike which was ferrying a couple, a man and a girlfriend to their home.
DCI revealed that the attack occurred at 5 am in the Gakoromobe area where the armed gang of three were also on a motorbike.
The gang ambushed the boda boda rider and his passengers forcing him to jump off the motorbike making it eventually crash while the couple were still on board.

After the crash, the gang proceeded to steal from the man and woman their phones and cash.
The DCI stated that the gang therefore dragged the lady away before assaulting her in turns.
“Before dragging the lady away, they forced themselves on her. The man’s attempt to protect his girlfriend was met with a dagger to the inner thigh, rendering hi helpless”
The good Samaritans who found the victim took them to Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital where they were treated and later on discharged.
DCI detectives have therefore launched a manhunt to capture the criminals.
