Aston Villa have completed the signing of 18-year-old Senegal forward Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain on a permanent transfer.
Mbaye joins the English club after spending eight years at PSG, having entered the French club’s academy at the age of 10. Both clubs confirmed the transfer on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
The Senegal international became PSG’s youngest player to start a Ligue 1 match when he faced Le Havre in 2024 at the age of 16 years, six months and 23 days.
Mbaye made his senior PSG debut in 2024 and went on to win eight major trophies with the club, including two UEFA Champions League titles and two Ligue 1 championships.
The winger switched his international allegiance from France to Senegal in 2025 after previously representing France at youth level.
He has since made 15 appearances for Senegal and scored four goals.Mbaye also featured for Senegal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he scored against France.
The move to Aston Villa gives the teenager an opportunity to continue his development in the Premier League after making 42 appearances for PSG, scoring four goals and providing four assists.
The transfer comes as Aston Villa reshape their squad under manager Unai Emery following the departure of several key players during the summer transfer window.
Mbaye is expected to add attacking options to Villa’s squad as the club looks to strengthen after a difficult start to the new Premier League campaign.
