Alliance High School Sends Students Home After Dormitory Fire

Alliance High School has announced a temporary closure following a fire incident that occurred in one of its dormitory facilities.

The school confirmed that the incident involved a small section of mattresses in one of the institution’s older dormitory blocks.

According to the administration, the fire was detected early and was quickly contained before it could spread to other sections of the building.

School authorities, working together with relevant response teams, managed to bring the situation under control within a short time.

The institution assured parents and guardians that no students were injured during the incident.

All learners were confirmed to be safe and accounted for, and school activities had resumed normally shortly after the situation was contained.

The administration noted that the safety of students remained the top priority throughout the response process.

However, despite the successful containment of the fire, the Board of Management and school leadership resolved to close the institution temporarily.

The decision was made as a precautionary measure aimed at ensuring a full assessment of the affected area and reinforcing safety standards within the school.

The school also announced plans to convene an urgent parents’ meeting at the institution.

The meeting is intended to update guardians on the incident, provide clarity on the situation, and communicate the next steps regarding the welfare and safety of the learners.

The development comes amid growing concern over safety in learning institutions following a series of fire-related incidents and disruptions reported in various schools across the country.

In recent days, several schools have been forced to take precautionary measures, including temporary closures and sending learners home, as administrations review safety protocols.

Education stakeholders have continued to urge schools to strengthen fire safety preparedness and ensure swift response mechanisms are in place to prevent loss of life or property in similar incidents.
