AC Milan Defeat Inter 3-1 to Claim Milan Derby Bragging Rights

AC Milan secured a significant 3-1 victory over city rivals Inter Milan in their Serie A derby encounter at San Siro on Saturday, October 31, extending their unbeaten run against Inter in the famous fixture to eight matches.

Milan made an explosive start, taking the lead just four minutes into the contest through Christian Pulisic, who headed home a cross delivered by Diego Moreira.

The Rossoneri doubled their advantage in the 10th minute when Adrien Rabiot finished from close range after another dangerous delivery from Moreira.

The early goals gave Milan control of the contest and placed Inter under immediate pressure.

Inter responded in the 22nd minute when Alessandro Bastoni headed home from a corner to reduce the deficit to 2-1.

The visitors subsequently increased their attacking pressure, but goalkeeper Mike Maignan made important saves to prevent them from equalising.

Milan restored their two-goal advantage shortly before half-time when Moreira scored directly from a free kick in the 43rd minute.

His contribution was particularly impressive, having assisted the opening two goals before scoring himself.

The second half produced no further goals despite Inter’s attempts to recover.

Milan moved into fourth place following the victory, while Inter remained on 25 points, level with league leaders Lazio.

The result also handed Inter their first defeat of the Serie A season.
