The Democracy for the Citizens Party has set the nomination fee for aspirants seeking its ticket in the July 16 Ol Kalou Member of Parliament by-election at KSh 250,000, with the amount designated as non-refundable.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the party invited qualified and interested members to apply for the ticket ahead of the by-election.
Candidates under the youth and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) categories will benefit from a reduced nomination fee of KSh 125,000.

The announcement was made by National Elections Board Chairperson Wanjiru Kago as the party formally opened its application process.
According to the party, the application forms will be available at the Democracy for the Citizens Party headquarters.
Interested aspirants are required to duly fill and submit the official application forms, attach all necessary supporting documents, and present proof of payment for the prescribed nomination fee.
The party has set Saturday, May 2, as the deadline for submission of all applications.
Notably, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has announced that the Ol Kalou Constituency by-election will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, following the declaration of a vacancy in the National Assembly seat by Speaker Moses Wetang’ula.
In a gazette notice dated April 24, Chairperson Erastus Ethekon confirmed the poll date and directed political parties to submit the names of their candidates and party primary schedules by May 4, 2026.
He further announced that campaigns will run from May 25 to July 13, 2026, with daily campaigning hours set between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
