Kenya Railways Flags Fake Job Advert, Warns Public

The Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC) has dismissed an advert circulating on social media purporting to announce job vacancies within the corporation.

In a statement issued on Monday, April 20, Kenya Railways cautioned the public against falling victim to the scam, warning that fraudsters are impersonating the corporation to exploit job seekers.

KRC indicated that the scammers have been posting fake job listings and soliciting money from unsuspecting applicants.

“Kenya Railways wishes to alert the public of fraudsters impersonating the Corporation by advertising fake job vacancies and soliciting money from unsuspecting job seekers. Be advised: All vacancies are published only on the official website (www.krc.co.ke) and in national daily newspapers. Applications are submitted strictly through the official Job Link on the website,” read the statement in part.

KRC further made it clear that it does not charge any fees at any stage of its recruitment process, including application, shortlisting, interviews, or appointment.

The corporation warned that any individual or entity requesting payment in its name is engaging in fraud and should be treated with suspicion.

Kenya Railways also urged members of the public to remain vigilant, ignore such misleading advertisements, and verify any recruitment information through its official communication channels.
