Kindiki Breaks Silence on Alleged Link to Nyeri Church Incident

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has dismissed claims linking him to an officer accused of leading violence at Witima ACK Church in Nyeri, terming the allegations baseless.

The claims were made by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who on Monday, January 26, shared a photo of a man he alleged was an officer attached to Kindiki and accused the Deputy President of being complicit in the incident.

In response, Kindiki strongly refuted the accusations, saying he does not know the individual in the image and distancing himself from any connection to the violence.

He further accused Gachagua of acting out of desperation and reiterated his long-standing stance against political violence.

Kindiki reiterated his firm opposition to the use of violence in politics, distancing himself from any actions that promote or endorse such conduct.

He said he has consistently condemned political violence in all its forms and emphasized that his political engagement is grounded in dialogue, persuasion, and consensus rather than force, noting that he has been in politics longer and has never relied on violence to advance his agenda.

The second in command cautioned Gachagua against drawing him into confrontational politics and stressed the importance of holding those responsible for the violence to account.

He said those who planned and carried out the chaos must be punished to prevent further harm to the country, reiterating that his approach to politics differs fundamentally from confrontational tactics.
