Malala Alleges UDA Operatives Being Trained in Uganda

Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala has claimed that the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is taking its secretariat staff and party agents to Uganda for paramilitary training.

Speaking during an interview on Tuesday, January 27, Malala said he was in possession of what he described as reliable information indicating that UDA staff are being transported to Uganda for the training.

He challenged UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar to publicly dispute the allegations, insisting that he would provide photographic evidence to support his claims and demand the production of the individuals’ passports to verify their travel.

The former UDA Secretary General further alleged that Hassan Omar and other senior UDA officials have been in Uganda for close to 60 days.

Malala questioned the purpose of the alleged training and demanded that the ruling party explain why its secretariat staff and agents were being taken to Uganda for what he termed paramilitary instruction.

He said the allegations raise serious concerns and called on UDA to publicly clarify the nature and objective of the training.

The claims come days after Malala made separate allegations involving Suna East MP Junet Mohammed, whom he accused of secretly working with President William Ruto’s camp during the 2022 General Election.

According to Malala, Junet allegedly shared internal information from the ODM Party with Ruto’s team, including details of party operations and grassroots structures across the country.

He further claimed that this information gave UDA access to sensitive data on ODM agents nationwide, accusing Junet of betraying Raila Odinga while he was still alive.
