Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has cautioned the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) against forming a pre-election coalition with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
Speaking on Saturday, January 17, Kalonzo argued that ODM does not share a common political vision with President William Ruto’s UDA party.
He recalled past remarks in which President Ruto allegedly disparaged the late Raila Odinga, saying this history makes claims of shared ideology questionable.

The former vice president emphasized that Raila Odinga stood for justice, fairness, decent wages, and a democratic system that protects citizens rather than those in power.
He questioned how parties with such contrasting values could convincingly present themselves as united.
According to Kalonzo, the ODM party should instead align itself with the united opposition if it truly believes in Raila Odinga’s vision.
He noted that the opposition is open to dialogue and ready to engage ODM leaders, including Oburu Oginga and Edwin Sifuna, to chart a common political path.
The Wiper boss further argued that if ODM chooses to form a coalition with UDA, the party should be transparent and publicly acknowledge that it no longer subscribes to Raila’s ideals.
Kalonzo maintained that joining President Ruto’s camp would signify a departure from the values and purpose that defined the late ODM leader’s political legacy.
