Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has alleged that his security detail has been withdrawn.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, November 26, Khalwale claimed that authorities are planning to arrest him ahead of Thursday’s by-elections.
He linked the withdrawal of his protection to his recent criticism of senior government officials.

The senator further claimed that police officers have hatched a coordinated plan to apprehend him at his home, but maintained that he would not be intimidated by such threats.
He went on to note that he was ready to face arrest,stating that he had in the past experienced similar situations and that there was no need to be scared.
Khalwale’s allegations come shortly after Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya voiced similar concerns, saying the government had withdrawn his security without proper explanation.
In a Wednesday morning statement, Natembeya claimed his security detail was recalled around midnight, a move he linked to his criticism of President William Ruto’s administration.
He accused the government of failing in its duty to protect all citizens including leaders regardless of their political positions.
