Kenya Defence Forces Commences Training for Fresh Recruits

The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has begun military training for a new group of recruits at the Defence Forces Recruit Training School (DFRTS) in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.

In a statement released on Tuesday, November 11, KDF said the event marked the official start of training for the first cohort of this intake of service members.

During the ceremony, Brigadier Ndar congratulated the recruits and encouraged them to stay focused and uphold discipline throughout their training.

According to the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), the new recruits will undergo a rigorous induction program designed to prepare them for full military life.

The training will cover physical fitness, technical skills, and leadership development, with a focus on instilling professionalism and discipline.

The induction process also involves document verification, medical screening, biometric registration, issuance of uniforms, and initial orientation before the recruits proceed to foundational military training.

KDF noted that the cohort includes General Duty recruits as well as Tradesmen and Tradeswomen drawn from across the country.

This comes a day after the High Court issued a conservatory order suspending the recruitment of constables to the National Police Service (NPS).
