Kisii Woman Names Quadruplets After Raila and Ida Odinga

A woman from Kisii has captured attention after naming her newborn quadruplets after the late former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga, with the fourth, a girl, named in honour of Mama Ida Odinga.

The mother recounted that her pregnancy was full of surprises and challenges that tested her strength and faith.

Initially, an ultrasound had indicated she was expecting triplets, but during delivery, doctors discovered an unexpected fourth baby through a cesarean section.

The mother’s sister shared that the birth came at an emotionally charged time for the family, coinciding with the mourning period following Raila Odinga’s passing.

Speaking about the dramatic moment, she recounted how the discovery of the fourth baby transformed their grief into celebration.

The family described the birth of the quadruplets as a blessing and a source of comfort amid their period of mourning.

The sister shared that the family is struggling to cope with the financial and logistical demands following the birth, noting that the mother already has twins and lives in a rental house, making the arrival of four additional children especially challenging.

The family has appealed to well-wishers and members of the public for support as they adjust to their new reality.

According to hospital officials, the delivery marked a historic moment for the facility, as it was the first successful birth of quadruplets there.
