In the footage, CNN journalist Larry Madowo’s car, which was correctly positioned in its lane, refused to make way for the MP’s vehicle, leading to a brief standoff between the two.

The confrontation rapidly gained traction online, fueling conversations about accountability and respect for traffic laws among public officials.

In the clip, Madowo is seen pulling out his phone to record the exchange, prompting an angry reaction from Orero, who was seated in the passenger seat.

The situation escalated into a heated verbal exchange, with Madowo appearing unshaken as he retorted, “Okay, I will take it to Ruto, that’s the only thing that you are afraid of?

The MP’s vehicle eventually drove off as the driver hurled insults at Larry Madowo.

The incident sparked widespread outrage, with many Kenyans condemning the lawmaker’s conduct as reckless and unbecoming of a public leader.

The Motorists Association of Kenya criticized the incident and called for action against Orero’s driver, while Nairobi County Environment Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria praised Madowo for recording the altercation, emphasizing that leaders must respect traffic laws.

On Monday, October 13, Orero’s driver was arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts, where he admitted to violating traffic rules and obstructing other motorists.

He apologized, explaining he was rushing to drop someone at the airport. The magistrate accepted his apology but imposed a fine of Ksh100,000 for the offence.
